    Dear Mr Knight
I would like to apply for the job of reception clerk/telephonist which was advertised in http://www.studentinfor.bizland.com (best UK student site).

For the past four years I have worked as a clerk/telephonist with Browns. Due to their move to another part of the country I will be made redundant in two weeks time.
    I also:

  • operate the switchboard
  • send fax messages
  • deal with telephone enquires
  • type and word process 10 -12 items daily
  • deal with the post

Before this job I was a YT trainee with Brightsons (Solicitors) in North street,
Invertown and completed RSA I and II in Business Administration with RSA II in word processing.

I have always enjoyed working with people and think my previous experience
will enable me to work as part of the team and to be an effective representative
    of your company.

I am prepared to work Saturdays on a rota basis. I have my own transport.
I am avaliable for interview at any time and could start work immediately.
References are avaliable from my present and previous employers.
Please find enclosed a copy of my CV for your further information.
I look forward to hearing from you.
